Harold Hargreaves LLB

Harold lives in Cliviger with wife Maureen and has three children and one grandchild.

He joined Shaw, Mottershead, Badgery as an Assistant Solicitor in 1973 and became a Partner in 1974 dealing with Conveyancing and Probate matters.

He has over 30 years experience in this area. Currently his is joint head of the Farnworth Shaw Probate and Conveyancing Department with Peter Bolton.

 

Peter Bolton LLB

Peter Bolton lives in Burnley with his wife and two children. He is a native of Rishton and was educated at St. Mary's College at Blackburn; he then gained an upper second class degree in law at King's College, London and completed his legal education at The College of Law, Lancaster Gate, London.

Peter was admitted as a Solicitor in May 1975, having completed two years Articles with a Blackburn firm of Solicitors; he stayed with that firm until 1982 when he moved to Farnworth & Watson as an Assistant Solicitor, dealing mainly with criminal and litigation matters.

He became a Partner 1985 and for the past ten years has headed the Conveyancing and Probate Department.

Elaine Ennis LLB

After completing her education at St Hilda’s High School Burnley, she gained an Honours Degree in Law from the University of Manchester and completed her studies at the College of Law in Chester.

She served her Articles in Pendle and was admitted in 1979. She has practised locally since then and has been with Farnworth and Watson since 1983. She became a Partner in 1988 since when she has headed the Family Law Department.

She spent five years as a Lecturer in Law.

Elaine is actively involved in the Burnley and Pendle Law Society and has served as a Committee member for 10 years. She is a former President of the Society.

She is interested in Education matters and is on the Board of Governors at both Primary and Secondary Schools where she chairs the Disciplinary Committees.

Andrew John Payne BA(Oxon)

Andrew was educated at Walton High School, Nelson and after leaving Nelson & Colne College received an Honours Degree in Law from Oxford University where he won a scholarship. He trained locally and worked for Shaw, Mottershead & Badgery since 1986 and has been a Partner since 1993. He has a total of 20 years experience in personal injury litigation and now heads the Personal Injury, Civil Litigation and Employment Department.

He has been a member of the Law Society's Personal Injury Panel since it was set up in 1994 and is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers. He has a special interest in head and spinal injuries and has successfuly handled many hundreds of cases.

Andrew was secretary of the Burnley and Pendle Law Society for eight years and is now the immediate Past President of that Society.

Interests include five-a-side football, traditional music and travel.

William Berry LLB

Bill Berry was educated at Accrington Grammar School and after completing a Law Degree at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, studied for his professional examinations at the College of Law in Chester. Following a two year period in Articles, he was admitted as a Solicitor in 1981.

Bill specialises in Family Law and Criminal Law and is a member of the Law Society’s Children Panel and the Solicitors’ Family Law Association. He is a Duty Solicitor for police stations in Burnley and Pendle and is a Court Duty Solicitor.

He conducts both legally aided and privately funded matters.
